Connecting Within is the process of expanding our individualized self-consciousness into the omnipresent Consciousness of the Source of All. It is the process of realizing that our individualized self and the One Self are ONE.
This third front of activity in the process of Connecting Within also starts with our efforts to re-create ourselves. It starts with the first front of activity, “Re-Creating our Being”.
However, a more active role in this third front, and a clear awareness of our situation, can bring us nearer to the great moment of Realization and Liberation.
Our role in this third front is simple, yet brave and courageous:
We must have the self-discipline and the self-control that are necessary for maintaining peace and harmony in our minds and feelings, in spite of the outer events and circumstances of our lives.
In our Western societies, when we talk about self-discipline and self-control, many well-intentioned students of the Wisdom retreat. The kind of self-discipline and self-control that the process of Connecting Within requires is not a discipline which is focused on privation and limitation. On the contrary, it is a discipline of expansion and abundance. It is the Discipline of Harmony and Beauty in the use of all the energies of our being.
Therefore, our role in allowing the Work of Perfection of the Light in us and through us is the intelligent combination of all the activities for Connecting Within. This intelligent combination is, in itself, the Discipline of Harmony and Beauty:
Our role is, above all, to abide by the Laws of Harmony, day and night and in all kinds of circumstances.
Our role is to persevere in dissolving all the discord accumulated in our being and world with the regular use of the Light.
Our role is to use the Light to re-create our being according to the Divine Blueprint of Perfection.
Our role is to persevere in the invocation of the Presence of the Inner God with the regular practice of meditation aimed to align the various aspects of our being with the Source.
The Discipline of Harmony and Beauty that this third front of activity suggests is of great importance for the entire process of Connecting Within. If we are not convinced of its importance, things on the Spiritual Path will become difficult for us:
The Light of the Presence that we invoke in the whole process is an unqualified energy. It is a raw energy that vitalizes everything in our being and lives.
The Light flowing through us will thus strengthen, not only our qualities, but also our defects and limitations, and we will end up in a precarious situation.
These are the reasons why, on this third front of activity, our role must be brave and courageous. Harmony and peace within is something our human civilization does not know or understand. Yet for the seeker traveling the Spiritual Path this is a stage which cannot be escaped or avoided. It is, in fact, a most essential stage.
