Meditation is the scientific use of the mental faculty to achieve a focused awareness and intention at the level of Soul.
It is called “scientific” because, when the mental faculty is used in accordance with the natural laws of our form and Soul, the intended results are invariably produced.
Suggestions
- Be ready to establish a regular rhythm in your life for practicing meditation. For this, you will need to rearrange your daily and weekly rhythm of activities.A regular rhythm in the practice of meditation is a requirement for rising one’s awareness to the level of Soul. This is so because the substances of our mental, astral and physical bodies answer more easily to a rhythmic activity than to sporadic and irregular efforts.
- Choose a time during the day or evening when the pressures of the daily activities and labor do not disturb your mind. Try to practice the meditation exercise of your choice at the same time every day; but do not become a slave of time.
- Choose a place where no one can interrupt you and where the noises and sounds of modern life do not disturb. Try to use the same place every day; but do not become a slave of space.
- Practice the meditation exercise sitting in a chair with a straight back not too comfortable so that you will not fall asleep and not too uncomfortable so that your body will not complain; but do not become a slave of your body.
- Wear loose clothing and shoes, with no constrains anywhere; but do not become a slave of comfort.
- Start by briefly focusing your attention on the rhythm of your breathing. Breathe deeply three times and then focus your undivided attention on the meditation exercise of your choice.
- Alignment Meditations are the best place to start. They are designed to facilitate the alignment of our daily awareness with the boundless awareness of our Soul and Self. When you develop some familiarity and effectiveness in this alignment, you could start with the practice of Creative Meditations.Alignment with one’s Soul and Self is not a psychic experience. In other words, during alignment with the Soul and Self one does not hear a mental voice with a message, nor does one see pictures of things or events.During alignment with one’s Soul and Self what one experiences is an expansion of one’s normal field of awareness as if a veil is lifted from our eyes and brain. During this expansion of awareness one will experience and understand the limitlessness, love and wisdom of the eternal part of our Being our Soul and Self.
Remember, the ultimate goal of any kind of meditation is for you to experience yourself as a Divine Being, all wise, all loving and all powerful ONE with the Source of All and with all forms of life in the Universe.
