Community is based on a practical understanding of the nature of human beings:
We are timeless and everlasting Beings seeking to expand our understanding of ourselves, the Cosmos and the Infinite Source of All.
We do this by becoming aware of relationships at all levels and by learning, through the experiences of life, the laws and principles that govern Creativity and Creation.
Even though Community is based on a practical understanding of the nature of human beings, Community does not define the proper needs of individuals, nor their level of fulfillment. In Community we all are free to explore and understand our individual needs (both, inner and outer) and the ways these needs may find fulfillment. The task of Community is to prepare ways of interaction that can allow all individuals to satisfy their needs as they, individually and in group formation, see them.
There are, nonetheless, three major tendencies present in the psyche of all beings in the Cosmos which Community cannot ignore when designing ways for assisting the process of perfection in all individuals. These major tendencies are: Goodness, Love and Freedom.
Goodness is a natural psychological impulse to live in harmony and peace with ourselves at all levels, with others and with the environment. But it is not the false harmony of resignation and mediocrity. It is the active, gratifying harmony born of a constant creative interplay between our being, others and the environment; in this interplay we use our intelligence, we accept full responsibility and we care for others.
This psychological tendency is present in all of us. Because of this, we all, as individuals and as Community, have the essential need for realizing Goodness in ourselves, as well as in others, and of practicing it actively.
Love is a natural psychological impulse that moves us to express ourselves spontaneously, creatively and harmoniously towards other beings (human and otherwise) and to care for their growth, goodness and well-being; not because we may think that they deserve it or because we may want to feel good about it, but because Love is plain Bounty and we all are part of this Bounty.
This psychological tendency is present in all of us. Because of this, we all, as individuals and as Community, have the essential need for discovering and realizing the boundless power of Love in ourselves, as well as in others, and of having opportunities to exercise it.
Freedom is a natural psychological impulse that moves us to be all what we can BE. Yet the nature of Freedom is such that we cannot be free if others are not free to BE, and others cannot be free if we are not free to BE.
This psychological tendency is present in all of us. Because of this, we all, as individuals and as Community, have the essential need for realizing in an actual way that not only are we free to choose the way or ways to come to our fruition but also that all others are free to achieve their state of fulfillment as they individually see it; as well as the need for having the opportunity to facilitate an ever-expanding freedom for others.
The design of ways of interaction that allow all individuals to satisfy their needs in Community must be simple, practical and effective. Goodness, Love and Freedom are not philosophical abstractions, nor are they idealistic thoughts. They are real, effective forces with the power to harmonize our being, to shape our lives and environment, to build Community and to unleash the Bounty of the Universal Fountain.
But Community as a whole also has needs, and these must be addressed. If this were not so, Community would be unable to provide for all the needs of its members. On one hand, every community must demonstrate to other communities Goodness, Love and Freedom in practical and effective ways. On the other hand, every community needs to experience from other communities Goodness, Love and Freedom in practical and effective ways. This reciprocal interaction with others makes the community and each of its members grow in perfection, beauty and abundance.
A COMMUNITY of communities is, therefore, the true Community and is built upon and with the same Principles of Community:
Harmony, Abundance, Clarity, Love, Service, Illumination, Cooperation, Charity, Desire, Faith, Stillness and Creativity.
